The City's Parks and Recreation Department will lead the second Friendswood Academy in 2026.

What is the Friendswood Academy?

The Academy is an 8-week program that allows a class of no more than 15 adult residents to learn more about each City department.

When are the classes held?

The classes will take place every Tuesday, from 6-8pm for an 8-week period.

When does this program begin?

The first Friendswood Academy class begins February 3rd and ends on March 24th.

When can I apply?

Applications for the first class closed on December 31, 2024, with 12 "students" being accepted into the first class.  The next class will be held in 2026, and applications for the second Friendswood Academy Class will be received from November 1, 2025 through January 9, 2026.

How do I apply?

You may apply at anytime to participate in the Friendswood Academy by completing the application and submitting it to the City Secretary's Office via email to citysecretary@friendswood.com or by mail/in person to the attention of the City Secretary, 910 S. Friendswood Dr, Friendswood, Texas 77546.  

How do I qualify for the Friendswood Academy?

• Must be a Friendswood resident for at least 2 years.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must be able to provide own transportation.

• Must pass a criminal background check.

• Must commit to attending all classes and activities related to the program.
