Message from the Mayor
I’ve been blessed to wear many hats in my life:
- Husband
- Father
- Grandfather
- Naval Aviator
- Test Pilot
- Astronaut
- Business Owner
- Councilmember
- Mayor
Each opportunity is a privilege, but with each opportunity comes a unique set of challenges.
Growing Community
I feel very fortunate that my wife and I found Friendswood when we moved our family to this area over 20 years ago. Like any city of its size, Friendswood has challenges. During the time span of one generation, the Bay Area has dramatically grown in population. Even with the growth surrounding Friendswood, the city has managed to retain the pillars upon which it was founded: faith, family, and education.
As time passes, it becomes more challenging to maintain the balance between the traditional Friendswood that we love and the modern Friendswood that we want. A combination of private enterprise, community groups, developers, individuals and yes, government, will continually shape our future. One thing will remain constant as Friendswood continues to grow: all voices will be heard.
Dream Big
In the midst of opportunities and challenges, I would ask everyone in Friendswood to learn and practice a principle that has served me well throughout my life: dream big! Strive to make each ordinary day become extraordinary. Take a moment to not only count your blessings (and in Friendswood they are numerous), but think about the opportunities ahead, and dream big!
Sincerely,
Mike Foreman
