Raquel Martinez graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Lee College with a major in Professional Office Technology. She earned her Texas Municipal Clerks Certification from the University of North Texas in August 2024.
Raquel began her career in local government in August 2002 with the City of Baytown and started her tenure with the City of Friendswood in June 2023 as a Deputy City Secretary. She has over 22 years of municipal experience with over a decade in the City Secretary’s Office working with and/or managing public information requests, attorney general opinions, agenda/agenda packets, boards and commissions, appointments, public meetings and special events. She has also served in various administrative capacities throughout city government including Health, Building Services and Planning and Development Services, is a certified translator/interpreter (Spanish) and experienced notary public.
Raquel and her husband Pablo have two daughters named Miranda and Victoria, and a son named Juan Pablo. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and staying active in her faith and ministry.
