Still the "Promised Land"
Just as in the late 1800's, when our founding Quaker settlers discovered their gift of "The Promised Land," Friendswood provides the perfect mix for families, churches, civic organizations, and businesses to thrive in a safe and stable environment.
Neighboring the Galveston Bay, NASA, and Houston Metro-plex, Friendswood has replaced its fig orchards with a community of citizens who support the Engineering, Space, Oil/Gas, Medical, and many other employers in the local economy.
With two outstanding School Districts, as well as private schools, our community strongly supports the educational excellence of our next generation of citizens.
Our long standing spirit of volunteering and service has established cherished traditions, such as the 4th of July parade, Friday night Concerts in the Park, numerous Youth Sports Programs, and the Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade, to name a few. As we grow to our potential of over 50,000 residents, we look for new and existing businesses to provide expanded consumer and employment choices within our City. Compatible business opportunities will find welcoming arms from the educated and affluent community of Friendswood.
