Friendswood residents are encouraged to bring their tree limbs, grass clippings, wood, metal, appliances, and plastic to the Spring Sparkle at Centennial Park, 2200 S. Friendswood Dr., on Saturday, April 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Please have your ID available for proof of Friendswood residency. Spring Sparkle does not accept wet or moldy items, or hazardous waste (including tires, paint, batteries, and oil).

Spring Sparkle will have paper shredding from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, with a 200-pound limit of paper per vehicle, until the shredding truck is full. Please do not bring 3-ring binders, cardboard, floppy disks, hanging file folders, newspaper, microfiche, or video tapes for shredding.

Also Saturday, you can donate items the Keep Friendswood Beautiful (KFB) Garage Sale. On the morning of April 14 at Centennial Park, KFB accepts furniture, other household items and bicycles, but not clothing. Items can be dropped off from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

KFB also needs aquariums, dog and cat kennel carriers, clean rags, and shallow crock bowls. Those items are used by people who help rehabilitate wildlife.
