The Hazard Mitigation Plan evaluates hazards which have the potential of affecting the city, analyze historical data of past events, and develop action items designed to mitigate the effects of future disasters or hazardous events. The City of Friendswood's Hazard Mitigation Plan was updated, received FEMA approval and
will expire November 1, 2020
. Members of the City’s Hazard Mitigation Team participated in the review and update of the Galveston County Hazard Mitigation Plan, and will be covered under this plan
through 2022. The City of Friendswood submitted a letter of cooperation with Harris County to seek grant funding for the review and update of the Harris County Mitigation Plan.
