The majority of City revenues rely heavily on property taxes from the appraisal values of homes and Charges for Services such as water and sewer utilities.

Property Valuation & Tax Rate per $100 - Placeholder
The City’s 2016 property tax rate is $0.5460 per $100 valuation. The overall values have increased for property in place for tax years 2015 and 2016. The impact on individual property owners varies based on their circumstances. If a $200,000 home value’s does not change from year-to-year, it would be taxed on a value of $160,000 due to the City’s 20% homestead exemption. Based on the adopted 2016 property tax rate of $0.5460, the property tax bill would be $873.60. This amount is a slight decrease of $36.32 from the 2015 property tax rate.

Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports
The City of Friendswood’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is published to provide the City Council, citizens, bondholders, City Staff and other interested parties with audited detailed information concerning the financial condition and activities of the City government. The report contains a balance sheet, a statement of changes in net position, a statement of revenues, and expenditures, and a comparison of budgeted to actual expenditures and revenue. The report also contains statistical data and other information of interest.
