State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (S.T.E.A.R.)

Do you or anyone you know need some assistance during times of an emergency event? The STEAR program is a free registry that provides local emergency planners and emergency responders with additional information on the needs in their community. Texas communities use the registry information in different ways. Registering yourself in the STEAR registry DOES NOT guarantee that you will receive a specific service during an emergency. Individuals must register each year to remain in the registry.

Who Should Register?

• People who are medically fragile

• People with access and functional needs such as:

• People who have limited mobility

• People who have communication barriers

• People who require additional medical assistance during an emergency event

• People who require transportation assistance

• People who require personal care assistance

How to Register

• Register Online at https://stear.tdem.texas.gov/Login.aspx

• Dial 2-1-1 or use your video telephone relay option of choice to contact 211 at 877-541-7905 (Texas Information Referral Network)

Vacation Watch

Vacation Season is coming! Do you know who will be watching your home?

Residents living in Friendswood may submit a Vacation Watch Request whenever they will be away from home for more than a day. If you would like to inform the police department that you will be out of town for an extended period and would like an extra patrol of your residence, submit the request to the Citizens Online Reporting System here, https://www.ci.friendswood.tx.us/778/Citizens-Online-Reporting-System .

If you prefer not to use the online system, you may call the non-emergency police dispatch line at 281-996-3300 or the Citizens Online Reporting System line directly at 1-833-319-1806 and get a link texted to your phone.

Vacation Watch is not used for homes for sale, abandoned, or in foreclosure. Vacation Watch is used to notify the police department that a location requests extra patrols while the owner is away.
