Concert in the Park Starts Tomorrow

Join us tomorrow for a performance from the Friendswood High School Jazz Band at Stevenson Park Gazebo, 1100 S. Friendswood Dr. at 7:00 p.m., and end at approximately 9:00 p.m. This week's concert is sponsored by ACU of Texas Credit Union. 
 
All the concerts are free to the public. Door prizes are given out during intermission. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, refreshments, dinner and/or a snack and sit back and enjoy an evening of fun and family entertainment. Several food vendors will be available at each concert. Check out our event page for more information on each band and for rainout notifications. Youth Fishing Derby this Saturday

Get those fishing poles ready for the City of Friendswood Parks and Recreation Fishing Derby at Centennial Park on May 6th. This FREE event starts at 8:00 am, come and go until 10 am. Over 600 lb. of adult catfish will be stocked in the Centennial Park Pond for participants to catch, ages 16 and under. No pre-registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing supplies, since loaner rods will be limited. Prizes awarded to the largest fish in each age group. No fishing license required. Whatabuger will be handing out free breakfast to the first 200 people. If you would like to keep your catch, there will be someone on site cleaning and bagging fish for people to take home. Register now!

Keep Friendswood Beautiful Photo Contest

Keep Friendswood Beautiful #FriendswoodProud Photo Contest is back for another great year! Entries are being accepted between now and May 12. Take a photo of wildlife you find in Friendswood. Wildlife is any living creature that is not domesticated. Wildlife mammals (such as deer, squirrels, opossums, etc.) as well as birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians. No photos of pets, please. Please make sure the wildlife photo was taken inside Friendswood city limits.

  2. Submit your photo in a comment on the Keep Friendswood Beautiful Facebook.
  3. Make sure to hashtag #friendswoodproud
  4. Sign and submit this release form. 

Winners will be announced at the June 30th Concert in the Park.
