Severe Weather Open House TONIGHT!

The City of Friendswood Office of Emergency Management is hosting a Severe Weather Open House at the Friendswood Public Library tonight, June 7 from 5pm to 7pm. This come and go event will have safety and weather information available from various City Departments, utility providers, Texas Department of Insurance, Texas Wind Insurance Association and other local partners.

The Friendswood Fire Department, Police Department, and EMS will have emergency response equipment on display in the parking lot. Come see what equipment would be used during floods and other emergencies within the City.

The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for residents to learn what local officials do during Severe Weather and what they can do to prepare for emergencies

Drawing for the Astros Tickets

All event attendees will be eligible to enter a drawing for a free 4-pack of Astros Tickets and parking pass sponsored by Texas New Mexico Power. Be sure to stop by the Friendswood Emergency Management table at the event to be entered into the drawing.

Concert in the Park

Join us this Friday for a performance by CTS, Queen of Tejano & Latin Tribute Band, at Stevenson Park Gazebo, 1100 S. Friendswood Dr. at 7:00 p.m., and end at approximately 9:00 p.m. Tomorrow's food vendors are Kettle Korn, Chick-Fil-A (Credit Card Only), Twisted Cow Ice Cream, and Lemonade Bar.

All the concerts are free to the public. Door prizes are given out during intermission. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, refreshments, dinner and/or a snack and sit back and enjoy an evening of fun and family entertainment sponsored by the City of Friendswood Parks & Recreation Department.
