Concert in the Park starts this Friday

Concerts will take place at the Stevenson Park Gazebo, 1100 S. Friendswood Dr. All concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m., and end at approximately 9:00 p.m. All concerts are free to the public. Door prizes are given out during intermission. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, refreshments, dinner and/or a snack and sit back and enjoy an evening of fun and family entertainment sponsored by the City of Friendswood Parks & Recreation Department. Wearing masks and social distancing is encouraged.

Youth Fishing Derby

Youth Fishing Derby this Saturday

Over 600 lb. of adult catfish will be stocked in the Centennial Park Pond for participants to catch, ages 16 and under. No pre-registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing supplies, since loaner rods will be limited. Prizes awarded to the largest fish in each age group. No fishing license required. Masks and social distancing is encouraged.


Keep Friendswood Beautful #FriendswoodProud Photo Contest

Entries for the fourth annual Keep Friendswood Beautiful Photo Contest are being accepted between now and May 21, 2021. Photos must be submitted electronically with a signed Release Form by May 21. Got to this link for all contest rules and details. 


Judging Criteria

  • Amount of creativity demonstrated in the photo,
  • How well the photo demonstrates the essence and beauty of Friendswood,
  • Quality and composition of the photo.

Now Accepting 4th of July Booth and Parade Applications

The Friendswood Fourth of July Steering Committee and the City of Friendswood are now accepting applications for entries in the 2021 Friendswood’s July 4th Parade. The theme is “Past, Present, and Future.” This year, the parade and day program at Stevenson Park will be held on Monday, July 5th. 

The Grand Parade begins at 10 a.m. on Friendswood Drive (FM 518) at Heritage Drive. It concludes at Stevenson Park. There is no charge to participate in the parade. All entries must be decorated in a patriotic manner and have some recognizable connection to the theme. To enter, please complete the parade application at this link. 

After the parade, in Stevenson Park there will be vendors, games, food, entertainment,  and fun for the entire family until approximately 3:30 p.m. Booth vendors must provide their own tables, chairs and supplies necessary for display. To apply, please complete the booth application at this link. 
4th of July

Anticipated Traffic Delay – Tour de Corps Bike Tour – Sunday, May 16th

On Sunday, May 16th, the Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Southeast Texas will be hosting a Tour de Corps bike ride through the City of Friendswood.  The bike tour will begin at 7:00 a.m. at Challenger Stadium and the riders will return to the stadium approximately two hours later.  There will be 80 to 100 riders.  Police and medical personnel will be on hand. 
 
The route will leave Challenger Stadium, turn onto W. FM 528, North on Blackhawk Blvd, SW on FM 2351, then SE on Sunset Drive to FM 528.  They will travel on FM 528, turn SE onto FM 518, then N. on Bay Area Blvd, back to FM 528 and finally making the turn South on W. Nasa Blvd to finish at Challenger Stadium – a total of 17.75 miles.
