Keep Friendswood Beautiful
Receives Special Recognitions
and $250,000 grant
Keep Friendswood Beautiful (KFB), the volunteer group that works with the City to enhance the aesthetic appearance of Friendswood is the repeat winner of two prestigious awards. As they did in 2015, Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) has recognized Friendswood as one of ten winners of the 2021 Governor’s Community Achievement Awards (GCAA) for outstanding community improvement. The award to Friendswood comes with a $250,000 grant for beautification along a state road.
The second recognition, and just as important, is the KTB Gold Star recognition of KFB. It is the highest status any community affiliate can achieve. The Gold Star indicates KFB went “…above and beyond the established requirements” and “…reported information on their mission and goals, answered questions about their economic development and diversity and inclusion practices, or participated in the Keep Texas Beautiful Awards or Governor’s Community Achievement Awards programs,” according to KTB.
