Workforce Solutions job search seminars offered virtually through Friendswood Library.
Next week, Workforce Solutions is offering four live "virtual" seminars to provide individuals looking for work with creative solutions for navigating today's job market.
Topics include how to look for a job, write or revise a resume, interview, network, use your job skills and experience in a new and different way, and even how to navigate working in a more virtual environment. We invite you to engage in their captivating and interactive programs.
These seminars are free, open to the public, and do not require registration. Attend one or all of these classes using Zoom from a mobile device or computer. You are welcome to participate without video or a microphone. Information on how to connect is listed below. For more information contact Friendswood Library at 281-482-7135.
Week’s Schedule and Class Description
Monday, September 21 at 10am – Create A Targeted Plan: Assess your needs, employment skills, and review labor market information to create a targeted job search plan.
Tuesday, September 22 at 10am – Build A Job Readiness: Learn to evaluate and practice effective communication in applications, resumes, basic introductions, and interviewing.
Wednesday, September 23 at 10am – Sharpening Your Interviewing Skills: Focus on the interview process and use the employer's perspective to determine proper interview attire and prepare answers to common interview questions.
Thursday, September 24 at 10am – Closing the Deal: Understand networking, how to use social media as a networking tool, and how to follow up with the employer after the interview.
