CCISD is the 29th largest school district in Texas, out of 1,031 districts. Our district employs more than 5,500 persons (2,700 of which are teachers), and spans 103 square miles, 13 municipalities, and two counties (Harris and Galveston). We are governed by a high performing Board of Trustees, seven elected community members representing areas of the district. We pride ourselves on involving our stakeholders in making curriculum, finance, and policy decisions, and all of our decisions are made with the best interest of children in mind.
Education Village
CCISD is comprised of 26 elementary, 9 intermediate, and 6 high schools . Each campus is led by a team of experienced and compassionate administrators, teachers and support personnel. CCISD is meeting the needs of community growth with the construction of new schools. In the fall of 2010, CCISD opened its 7th high school and 10th intermediate. These two schools complete the first Education Village in Texas. The Education Village includes an elementary, intermediate, and a high school on one piece of land.
