Texas Tax Code 26.05 (b)(2) and the Truth in Taxation guidelines requires that the City provides the notice below when the adopted tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than the previous year's tax rate.
On October 1, 2012, the City of Friendswood adopted its 2012 tax rate of $0.5970 per $100 property valuation. This tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.
