Big turnout for the annual Youth Fishing Derby

More than 500 people, including 300 kids, participated in the annual Friendswood Youth Fishing Derby at the Centennial Park Pond. Jessie Barbee caught the most fish (four) and Koby Hilliard reeled in the smallest (three and one quarter inches).


In the age 6 and under category, Brody Bean placed first. Jessie Barbee was second. Sergey Wallace was third. In the age 7-11 group: Caiden Stanley, followed by Daniel Moe, and then Jeremiah Lopez. Age 12-16: Emily Jackson placed first. Joshua Decuir was second and Janelle Mooney was third.


The City of Friendswood Parks and Recreation Department thanks Operation Redemption, Snapology of Houston - South, Camp Gladiator, Hometown Bank of Friendswood, Whataburger, Texas New Mexico Power, La Escondido, The Little Gym, Melange Gallery of Salons, Nature's Garden, Lutheran South Academy, Raymond James, and Birraporetti's Friendswood for their support of the event.
