Transformation of Friendswood Drive medians underway
|Date:||July 1, 2016|
The Friendswood Drive (FM 518) “median makeover,” funded by a $210,000 Governor's Community Achievement Award from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), is in progress.
Volunteers at Keep Friendswood Beautiful (KFB) want residents to know that the crepe myrtles which have been removed are being replanted at the Corporal Steven Schulz Sportspark and Centennial Park.
After receiving the grant last year, and much consideration, KFB voted to redesign Friendswood Drive medians, from the Pearland City limit to Stevenson Park. That transformation is now underway.
Once the work is complete, medians will have new vegetation, decorative rock, and irrigation; all funded by the Community Achievement Award through TxDOT.
