City Parks & Reservations

Rentals & Reservations:

A permit and reservation are required for any gathering of more than 25 people.  To check availability or make a reservation over the phone, please call Parks & Recreation at 281-996-3220.  Deposit and Fee must be paid in full to make a reservation, no "hold" reservations will be made.  Visa & MasterCard are accepted over the phone, cash & check are accepted in our office at City Hall, 910 S. Friendswood Dr.

Without a permit and permission from the Director of Parks & Recreation; classes, boot camps, and personal trainers are prohibited in all City Parks.  For more information please call the Parks & Recreation office at 281-996-3220.

*Effective January 1st, 2014, the Friendswood City Council and the Parks and Recreation Board have approved new fees for park rentals and reservations.

With proof of 501(c)(3) status a non-profit group may receive resident rate.

 


Centennial Park

Located at 2200 S. Friendswood Dr. The newest addition to the Friendswood community.  Facilities include: 2 picnic pavilions, a 1/2 mile, paved, hiking/jogging trail, playground, concession, restrooms, 5 lighted soccer fields, 2 multi-purpose fields, 2 lighted football fields, 8 total soccer fields and the Evelyn B. Newman Amphitheater.

The park allows for Friendswood Youth Sports groups and the City of Friendswood to expand on local, state and national tournaments along with the expansion of current programming.

The park is also home to the 4th of July evening program and fireworks show.  This past year's program attracted over 10,000 spectators. In addition to the 4th of July, the City also hosts an annual Kidfish competition at the 3.5 acre retention pond.  

 

Pavilion: Available December through February

$200.00 (refundable) Clean-up and security deposit

Each pavilion has 9 picnic tables.

 

Soccer/Football Fields:

Daily fee - $25.00 per hour per field
Field set up (optional) fee - $250.00 per day

*A permit for field use must be acquired through the Parks & Recreation Department before fees are assessed.

 

Evelyn B. Newman Amphitheater

Admission Fee: Any event that charges an admission fee shall pay the City of Friendswood 10% (percent) of the gross receipts from the admission fee and any concessions sold.

 


Old City Park   

Located on Briarmeadow near Winding Way. Facilities include: picnic tables, barbecue pits, playground equipment and nature trails. A large riding arena with bleachers, concession stand and announcers booth host local horse shows and riding events. Approximately 6 acres of park land allows for parking of trucks, trailers and cars

Rentals:

$200.00 (refundable) Clean-up and security deposit

$75.00 Fee (resident- must provide a copy of City of Friendswood water bill)
$175.00 Fee (non-resident)

 


Leavesley Park Jones Hangar

Located at 901 Buckingham in Regency Estates. This facility is available for small and large social events, private parties and many other activities.

Tables and chairs for about 150 people are included, if more are needed, individuals must supply their own.
20 rectangular table - 8 feet long, seat 8
5 round tables - 6 feet long, seat 8
150 folding/plastic sturdy chairs

Also included:
Small kitchen with microwave, oven/range, and refrigerator (no ice machine).

Dimensions are ~100x60 - 6,000 sq ft.

Building capacity is 360.

 

Rentals:

$500.00 (refundable) Damage deposit

$250.00 - Janitorial (cleaning) fee for reservations taking place on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings (after 6pm).

Renwick Sports Complex

Located at 205 Stadium Drive, behind Westwood Elementary School. This facility contains 19 acres of baseball, and multi-purpose fields which are used for various youth and adult sports leagues.

Stevenson Park

Located on 1100 South Friendswood Drive (FM 518) by Fire Station #1. This beautiful park can be enjoyed by the entire family. Facilities include: playground area, picnic tables, four lighted tennis courts and restrooms. This is also the site for Concerts in the Park. Additionally, the park contains the following facilities:

  • Friendswood Sesquicentennial Pool- Can be reserved for Pool Parties.
  • Gazebo- Lighted area can be reserved for wedding ceremonies, etc.
  • Rotary Pavilion- Lighted area can be reserved for reunions, company parties, etc.
    *Pavilion/Gazebo are covered areas.
  • Tennis- Four lighted and fenced tennis courts are free to the public daily.
  • Sand Volleyball- Three sand volleyball courts are free to the public daily.
  • Basketball- Outdoor, clay court is free to the public daily.
  • Jogging Trail - 1/2 Mile, crushed granite jogging trail.

Rotary Pavilion

$200.00 (refundable) Clean-up and security deposit

Gazebo

Friendswood Sportspark

Located off of FM 528 and Moore Road (2910 W. Parkwood). This is a 27 acre multi-purpose sports park. This facility contains 4 lighted softball fields, 3 soccer fields (2 lighted), concession stand and restrooms. A beautiful facility which accommodates girls softball and adult softball leagues.

Activity Building

Located at 416 Morningside.  The newly renovated Activity Building houses the Friendswood Senior Citizen Program and provides fitness classes, meeting room space, etc. to the whole community.  For more information please contact the Activity Building at 281-482-8441.

 

 


Park Amenities:

Park amenities are free to use on a first-come, first serve basis.  Park amenities may only be utilized for the purpose in which they were intended to be used.

 

Fitness Instruction, Groups & Classes:

To teach, lead or instruct a fitness or health based group or class in one of the City parks a permit is required.   Contact the Director of Parks & Recreation for a permit. 281-996-3220

Security:

For any event of more than 75 people, or if alcohol will be present, security must be arranged. The pay rate for each officer is $30.00 per hour. At least two off-duty Friendswood Police Officers must be present and paid a minimum of three hours. Payment may be made by check, cash, or money order. To arrange for security personnel please call the Friendswood Police Department at 281-996-3300 and ask for the Evening Shift Supervisor.
