The City of Friendswood has entered into an interlocal agreement with the City of Pearland that allows Friendswood residents to utilize Pearland’s Stella Roberts Recycling Center for the purpose of disposing household hazardous waste products.
Per this agreement, Friendswood customers can bring up to 100 pounds of household hazardous waste per customer to Pearland’s Stella Roberts Center, located at 5800 Magnolia (off of Harkey Road) in Pearland. Friendswood residents need only to present a valid Texas Driver’s License at the Center, so that the number of Friendswood residents using the facility can be tracked. Household hazardous waste products shall include the following items:
- Flammable and combustibles – liquid and solid
- Poison – liquid and solid
- Corrosives – acids and bases
- Oxidizers – pool chemicals
- Lead acid batteries
- Nickel Cadmium batteries, lithium batteries, mercury batteries
- Motor oil, cooking oil
- Car fluids
- Latex paint, Oil based paint
