City of Friendswood Earns Financial Transparency Award

Friendswood, TX – February 22, 2010 – The City of Friendswood has received notification from the Texas State Comptroller’s Office that the City has received the Gold Leadership Circle Award for implementing financial transparency.

The City earned this State award after the Comptroller evaluated the City's level of transparency as it relates to our online financial information. Currently, Friendswood is one of only 9 Texas cities receiving this Gold Leadership Circle recognition. Specifically, the State of Texas is recognizing Friendswood for opening our books to the public, providing clear, consistent pictures of spending, and sharing information in a user-friendly format that lets taxpayers easily drill down for more information.
