Friendswood Link Road

The Friendswood Link Road – El Dorado Extension Project has reached a new phase. City Staff has been in contact with Harris County and the Contractor, Angel Brothers, on this project. On May 17th, 2009, Angel Brothers plans to close Friendswood Link Road from the eastside of Blackhawk Boulevard, at Bougainvilla Lane and Crofterglen Drive. This road closing is necessary to do the demolition and preparatory work necessary to tie in the new alignment of El Dorado Boulevard. Please remember that during this time, traffic patterns have changed and there shall be new signs with traffic warnings and instructions until the intersection is reopened. Attached are maps of the detour that coincide with the traffic flow directions listed below:

Residents of Bougainvilla Lane from 16403 to 16523 and Centennial Lane will need to go towards Blackhawk Boulevard and make a left. Then head south on Blackhawk Boulevard and make a left (east) onto Crofterglen Drive. At the end of Crofterglen Drive turn right (south) onto Friendswood Link Road.

Travelers that are heading southbound on Blackhawk Boulevard and normally take a left onto Friendswood Link Road will need to continue to the next intersection, Crofterglen Drive. Make a left (east) onto Crofterglen Drive. At the end of Crofterglen Drive turn right (south) onto Friendswood Link Road.

Travelers that normally are heading east on Friendswood Link Road will make a right turn (south) at Blackhawk Boulevard. Make a left (east) onto Crofterglen Drive. At the end of Crofterglen Drive turn right (south) onto Friendswood Link Road.

Travelers that are heading north on Blackhawk Boulevard will make a right turn (east) onto Crofterglen Drive. At the end of Crofterglen Drive turn right (south) onto Friendswood Link Road.

Travelers that are heading north on Friendswood Link Road will be detoured left (west) onto Crofterglen Road. At Blackhawk Boulevard turn right (north) to Friendswood Link Road.
