The Board acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to Parks and Recreation; acquaints itself with and makes continuous study and inspection of the complete parks and recreation system; follows a master planning guide for park buildings, structures, facilities, athletic areas or other improvements on park areas; recommends the adoption of standards on the areas, facilities, programs, and financial support; recommends to the City Council rules and regulations governing the use of facilities; recommendations to the City Council and City Manager and reasons therefore; and performs other duties as City Council may reasonably request.
