Movies in the Park - The Blind Side

The City of Friendswood and the Friendswood Rotary Club present Movies in the Park.

This week's movie is The Blind Side, rated PG-13. The movie will be free to the public thanks to our sponsor Friendswood United Methodist Church.

Movies will be shown at the Evelyn B. Newman amphitheater in Centennial Park, located at 2200 S. Friendswood Dr. Theater seats may be limited, so feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on the lawn. Don't forget your picnic dinner and/or snacks.
Gates will open at 6:45 p.m.. The movie will begin at dusk.

Movies in the Park at Centennial Park

Sunday, July 04, 2010, 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM

4th of July Celebration Evening Program

The two-day long celebration will kick off Sunday night with the Evening Program, which begins at 7:00 p.m., at Centennial Park. This year’s program should be one of the best family fun events for 2010. Rick Trevino will headline the evening entertainment along with a second band; Hamilton Loomis. A fantastic fireworks extravaganza will light up the sky beginning at approximately 9:20 p.m. The fireworks will be choreographed to patriotic music and is guaranteed to be one of the best fireworks displays in the Houston area.

Public parking will not be available at Centennial Park for the Evening Program. Spectators must ride the free shuttle service to gain admittance into the park. Shuttle Service will be available from Clear Brook High School and from Friendswood Community Church, on 2821 Parkwood Ave. Shuttle services will begin running at 6:30 p.m.

Monday, July 05, 2010, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM

115th Annual 4th of July Celebration

On Monday, July 5th The Grand Parade will travel down Friendswood Dr. The parade will begin at 10 a.m., at the corner of FM 518 and Heritage Drive, and will feature over 100 entries from Friendswood and around the State of Texas. The parade will conclude at Stevenson Park where rides, games, food, live entertainment and fun for the entire family will take place. The Zydeco Dots will be the featured entertainment along with a variety of patriotic performances throughout the day. The activities will begin shortly after the conclusion of the parade. Over 50 booth entries will provide the backdrop for the daytime activities. The daytime activities are scheduled to conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m
